Introducing... Aberdeen's Rhubarb Gin

Our scrumptiously jammy Rhubarb Gin is distilled right here in the heart of the city and uses real Scottish rhubarb. The special recipe includes generous quantities of botanicals imparting a long lasting sweet and warm flavour.

The first batch of Rhubarb Gin is made with Aberdeen grown Rhubarb - availability is limited.

Two prototypes of our Rhubarb Gin where initially created called Rhubarb #38 and Rhubarb #39.  These were available at the distillery and also on sale at the Banchory Lodge Hotel open air events.  We were able to tune the recipe based on what people loved most about each version.  That, and our use of modern distilling methods on a traditional still have meant the most exciting flavours have been captured from all the botanicals.

“This is Aberdeen’s first ever Rhubarb Gin, from Aberdeen’s first distillery in nearly 80 years – it deserved to be something special.  It can’t get more special than using locally grown ingredients.  It’s a true Aberdeen Gin, a true Aberdeen Rhubarb Gin.”

Samples of this new gin, and the full range, are available at the City of Aberdeen Distillery on Palmerston Road.

ℂ𝕚𝕥𝕪 𝕆𝕗 𝔸𝕓𝕖𝕣𝕕𝕖𝕖𝕟 𝔻𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕚𝕝𝕝𝕖𝕣𝕪  . I actually came across this gin because of th @the_wanderingbartender As he made his gin at the City of Aberdeen Distillery & Gin School. I saw some of the flavour gins that they were selling and could not resist the rhubarb! . I loved that with all of the gins you could choose between a  70cl - £35 / 50cl - £25/  20CL -£12 . So I bought the Rhubarb gin 39. They have different types of rhubarb and the one I'm drinking as I type this is the same recipe as the rhubarb 38, but bursting with 4 times as many botanicals. Served in a pretty traditional bottle with beautifully pink colour gin inside! It came really quickly ( if you are like me gin mail is like christmas so im very impatient) .. This Gin is a deliciously sweet drink with a rhubarb tart twist, amazingly full of flavour. The warmth of the gin definitely hits you when you take a sip but followed by an almost liquid rhubarb jam flavour.   I tried this with @londonessenceco Rhubarb and cardamom soda, as soda doesn't over power a drink .It has subtle aromatic notes of rhubarb and the essence of the cardamom i felt tasted really nice and took away some of the punch from the botanically intense gin that you first get with no mixer. @cityofaberdeendistillery suggest serving with ginger ale... so i tried this too and i would definitely agree that it compliments it extremely well as the rhubarb gin is mellowed with the warmth ginger.... reminds me of a dessert! so scrumptious! They have just realised a tuck shop gin too and it's definitely high on my massive list of gins to try! I mean sweeties as gin 😍😍😍😍 . I've done a rull review ready to go onto the @roundofgin website! #roundofgin #gin #ginstagram #review #rhurbarb #craftgin #photooftheday #garden #pink #hydrangea #yummy #lovescottishgin #scotland #scottish #supportlocal #cheekygincompany
