Scotland Food and Drink - support local directory

Scotland Food and Drink

In this uncertain time, we will see businesses struggle or even collapse but we are also seeing both businesses and individuals come together in support of one another.  It’s a beautiful thing to see and tricky to capture for Instagram.  Perhaps it’s as small as a friendly smile or a big hello in the street to make someone feel connected.  Other times it’s practical necessities, where a thank you only begins to demonstrate the felt appreciation.

In a society where we’re all happy to roll up our sleeves, it’s also great to come together in new and innovative ways – to create new connections, discover exciting ways to help each other or perhaps re-discover what is on your doorstep.

Scotland Food & Drink is helping us all to discover the amazing businesses that are all around us – more than that, they help us to enjoy this lockdown in despite the personal challenges each of us might face.

Scotland Food & Drink have launched a new online directory of businesses in Scotland.

Did you know that Figment Coffee in Aberdeen roasts coffee beans?
Did you know they deliver coffee?  Did you know they have specialty coffee from Rwanda?
Neither did we (and wow!) – that’s what Scotland Food and Drink aims to improve.  It’s for you.

Find out what local business can offer you – new flavours, new sensations, easily delivered, perhaps they simply have stock of something you’d love to have, perhaps you’ll try something new, and most importantly…you’ll be supporting local – that’s a whole lot of yes please.

We are proud to be listed on the Scotland Food and Drink Local Directory

Here at the distillery, even though we only opened in very early 2020 (interesting we thought it was a rollercoaster setting up a distillery!), we’ve adapted to the new (and unexpected) times by producing hand sanitiser for local GP surgeries and we started (from today) to sell our range of demi-johns online for home delivery UK wide – take a look at our range

We’re also offering FREE delivery on orders over £100.

We distil, bottle, label and cap Aberdeen Gin here in city, both traditional gins and fruit gins using locally grown fruit.  We sell in 20cl, 50cl and 70cl bottles.  We fill the bottles from the demi-johns and hand write labels.  It’s true, locally produced gin.

Who are Scotland Food and Drink?

Scotland Food & Drink is the industry body which facilitates and enables government and industry to work side by side. With over 450 companies as members, it manages a partnership between key industry organisations representing every sector of our industry, alongside leading research institutes, the Scottish Government and its agencies. It is working towards Ambition 2030, which aims to double the size of the food and drink industry in Scotland to £30 billion in turnover by 2030.

They can be found at @scotfooddrink on twitter and Instagram with #SupportLocalScotland

Why did they set up the directory?

The directory is one of the ways that the organisation is supporting businesses during Covid-19.

As more people find the supermarket shelves empty and the slots for home delivery booked up weeks in advance, folk are looking for new ways to buy food and drink in their area.

The supportlocal.scot platform will allow consumers to browse Scottish food and drink suppliers and search by product type and location, countrywide.
