Age Verification & Challenge 25

Minimum age

The minimum age for consuming alcohol in the UK is 18.

Those attending events must be 18, with the exception of the Discovery Tour where entry is permitted ages 13+ but must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Consumption of alcohol is only permitted for those who are 18+

Parental permission for those 16 or 17 years of age does not permit an exception as a table meal is not provided as part of the experience.

Age checks

Entry to an experience / activity, and certainly if wishing to purchase or be served alcohol, you may be asked to prove your age. The distillery operates a strict "Challenge 25" policy. If you are lucky enough to appear 25 or under, we will ask for proof of age.

Acceptable forms of ID

We are only permitted to accept certain types of documents that allow us to determine your age. It is your responsibility to bring an acceptable document with you.

Acceptable documents of proof include:

A valid passport
UK Driving Licence
European Union “photo-card” driving licence
Ministry of Defence Form 90 (Defence Identity Card)
Photographic identity card bearing the national Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) hologram
A national identity card issued by a European Union member state (including Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Switzerland)
Biometric Immigration Document

Documents NOT permitted:

Non-UK driving licences (except EU photo-cards)
Birth certificates
Electronic forms of ID (e.g., photos of documents on a mobile phone)
Photos / photocopies of documents

Can I purchase / consume alcohol if I can't prove my age?

No.

Will entry be refused if I can't prove my age?

It depends.

Without proof of age we will need to presume you are under 18 years of age. Therefore on the Discovery Tour, you would need to be accompanied by a responsible adult. Soft drinks will be offered instead of alcoholic beverages.

Entry to all other events will be refused.
