Aberdeen Gin - Nerello Gin
A gin made using Nerello grapes from the region surrounding Mt. Etna in Sicily.
Product description
Nerello Gin (40%) is made using the distillery's Signature Gin and grapes grown from around Mt. Etna in Scilly.
Nerello Mascalese grapes, particularly when grown on the slopes of Mount Etna, produce wines known for their red fruit flavours, floral notes, and a balance of acidity and tannins, often with earthy and mineral undertones.
Wines made from Nerello Mascalese typically exhibit flavours of red berries, sour cherry, and cranberry. Floral notes, sometimes described as rose or dried desert herbs, are also common. You might also find hints of spice (like cinnamon), cola, woodsy herbs, and minerals. The wines are known for their bright acidity and elegant tannins, which contribute to their structure and aging potential.
The volcanic soils of Mount Etna contribute to the wines' unique character, with notes of earthiness and minerality.
While this gin is sweet, no sugar has been added to the recipe.
