Step 1 - Confirm the type of voucher / gift card you have

City of Aberdeen Distillery Gift Card

If you have a City of Aberdeen Distillery Experience Gift Card the redeemable code will start with "BGC-" or "BGCM-".

If you have a City of Aberdeen Distillery Anytime Activity Gift Card the redeemable code will start with "ACT-" or "ACTM-".

If you have a City of Aberdeen Distillery Monetary Gift Card the redeemable code will start with "EGC-" or "EGCM-".

Buy-a-gift / Red letter days voucher

Red Letter / Buy a Gift vouchers usually start with 401 or 402 and are a sequence of numbers, typically 16 digits long.

Step 2 - how to redeem your voucher / gift card

Redeem a City of Aberdeen Distillery Experience Gift Card

If your code starts with "BGC-" or "BGCM-":

Visit the booking page and click on the appropriate event.
Change the number of adults to one (you can only redeem one gift card at a time).
Select your preferred date and time.
Click Checkout.
Enter your details and place your gift card code in the "gift card" box, then click apply.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Repeat for any additional gift cards.

You will receive an e-mail shortly after redeeming—please check your spam/junk folder if it doesn't appear.

Redeem a City of Aberdeen Distillery Anytime Activity Gift Card

If your code starts with "ANY-" or "ANYM-":

Instead of booking a specific time, instead you will need to redeem your voucher for a ticket (no set time).

Visit the booking page and click on the appropriate Anytime Activity.
Change the number of adults to one (you can only redeem one gift card at a time).
Click Checkout.
Enter your details and place your gift card code in the "gift card" box, then click apply.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Repeat for any additional gift cards.

You will receive an e-mail shortly after redeeming — please check your spam/junk folder if it doesn't appear.

With your ticket you can now turn up to the distillery and join us for an Anytime Activity. However, please note, our ability to operate an Anytime Activity is limited by our availability - we display the best options for timings on the ticket page - but it's recommended to drop us an e-mail in advance to let us know when you are planning to visit. We'll even open earlier in the day if it helps fit in with your schedule.

Redeem a City of Aberdeen Distillery Experience / Activity monetary voucher

If your code starts with "EGC-" or "EGCM-":

If you have been presented with an e-gift card that has a monetory value attached to it, then you can simply enter your code into the "Gift Card Code" box during online booking.

Redemption of this type of e-gift card can only be completed online. It cannot be used against other products / services such as gin.

Redeem a Buy A Gift / Red Letter Days voucher code

Firstly, browse the available time slots using the calendar found on the Discovery Tour booking page.

Then send us an e-mail to hello@cityofaberdeendistillery.co.uk with the following information...

Your first name and surname
Your voucher code
Date and time you wish to visit

Please note: we don't require the pin code on the voucher.

We will do our best to book you in within 24 hours though please we are closed on Monday / Tuesdays. E-tickets will be sent to you and your booking confirmed in two separate replies.

If you don't see your e-ticket, please be sure to check your spam/junk folder. Typically this will be a single e-ticket.

How do I know if I have an ItIsOn voucher?

Firstly, browse the available time slots using the calendar found on the Discovery Tour booking page.

Then send us an e-mail to hello@cityofaberdeendistillery.co.uk with the following information...

Your first name and surname
Your voucher code
Date and time you wish to visit

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I just turn up with my voucher?

For scheduled experiences - no. Please book in advance of the event.

For anytime activities - yes and no. Please first redeem your voucher to obtain a ticket on the appropriate booking page, then you can turn up to do the event. However, it may not be possible to operate the activity at your preferred time - we recommend dropping us an e-mail in advance. We can even open up ealier if this fits into your schedule better - we always try to be flexible.

Of course you can simply turn up to an Anytime Activity with your voucher codes and we'll be happy to run the event if availability allows at the time.

Can my voucher be extended?

For vouchers purchased directly from us, we can extend the expiry once (and only from the date of expiry) by up to 3 months — simply get in touch. For third-party vouchers (BuyAGift, RedLetterDays, ItIsOn, etc.) however, we cannot change these bookings and you will need to contact the supplier directly who will advise you on your options.

Can experience / activity vouchers be exchanged for gin instead?

Sorry, this isn't possible. We have separate "Distillery Gift Cards" for products and services and they aren't interchangable.
