Bottle For Life
Refill your bottle and save money
Product description
Introducing a new concept - the Bottle For Life.
In a nutshell
Bring your bottle back to the distillery, refill your bottle from our demi-john range and save money. A new initiative to help save the planet and thank our loyal customers.
To show our commitment to a greener future, we're offering a refilled Bottle for Life at (currently) £5 less for the same size / variety of bottle.
To get started you'll need a "New bottle" and then in the future you can choose the cheaper "Refill" option to save money.
Important note
"New bottles" - available for delivery / Click & Collect.
"Refill bottles" - only available in-person at the distillery i.e. Click & Collect.
What are the goals of the Bottle For Life?
We want to cut out as much plastic and reduce waste as much as possible.
Refill pouches are a great idea, but ultimately they are not easily recyclable and likely incinerated rather than recycled, due to solvent-based / UV cured inks along with multi-layered plastic e.g. PET/PE laminates. It's just more plastic and we want to reduce plastic use as much as possible.
How does the Bottle For Life solve this problem?
The bottle is yours. Keep it. Use it. Reuse it. Reuse again and again.
The labels can all be peeled off easily - but don't be too hasty to remove your labels just yet - we hope you'll bring your bottle back to the distillery, we'll re-fill your bottle direct from the demi-john.
We'll just need to change the small label that describes which gin it is and the strength but the rest of the label can remain. If you like, we can replace the entire label to refresh the label from time to time to keep it looking good.
What is the waste?
For a simple bottle refill, the waste for your newly filled bottle is nothing. Absolutely no waste.
If you decide to try a different gin, the waste is just paper/ink and is the size of a 20p coin. A full label, the waste is no bigger than a small walnut.
The good news - the waste is recyclable.
If you do eventually want to recycle your bottle - the paper and bottle are easily separated increasing the chances of those items to be recycled rather than incinerated.
Notes
- Refills are only possible by visiting the distillery. We're happy to let you sample some of the gins before we refill your bottle.
- Refills are not currently possible by sending in a bottle - maybe in the future - this is a new initiative and we'll be guided by feedback.
