Gin School Experience

Essential event information

It won't be long now before you are distilling your very own unique gin in a railway arch as trains rumbling overhead...in the meantime, please review tips for an enjoyable time:

Arrival time

Please arrive up to 15 minutes prior to the event so we may prepare your welcome drink and start the tour on time.

Mixer preference

On arrival we’ll ask for your mixer preference for your welcome drink and any subsequent samples, the choices are…

  • Fever Tree Light Tonic water (recommended)
  • Fever Tree Light Lemonade
  • Fever Tree Soda water

Soft drinks / water are available for those not consuming alcohol.

The distillery is located at a railway arch (#10) on Palmerston Road, next to Sweet Mumma's café (it's one arch before the bridge).

Duration

The event last for approximately 3 - 4 hours.

This event certainly last 3 hours, although, depending on the number of questions and time to choose botanicals, it is likely that the event may last up to 4 hours.  Please allow for this additional time if planning subsequent activities e.g. taxis, restaurants, cinema etc.

Age restrictions

The minimum age for attending the Gin School Experience is 18.

The minimum age for purchasing / consuming alcohol in the UK is 18.

The distillery operates a strict "Challenge 25" policy.  If you are lucky enough to appear 25 or under, we may ask for proof of age. 

If you cannot prove your age (using one of the accepted documents), entry to the event will not be permitted.

Safety

We have retained the arch's historic floor - we recommend you wear suitable foot wear and avoid high heeled footwear. 

Safety goggles and aprons are available on request.

Please listen carefully to all safety messages during the event.

What can I do to prepare for the event?

  • Please avoid wearing strong fragrances – attendees will be invited to assess the aroma of botanicals and spirits
  • If you have any special requirements e.g. accessibility, allergies – please get in touch prior to the event
  • Bring identification to prove your age
  • Put your thinking cap on - you'll need to come up with a name for your wonderful creation.

Collection service

If you intend to carry on celebrating once the event has finished, you may leave any distillery purchases / distilled gin at the distillery for collection at a later time.  Or we can post it out to you.  Ask a member of staff for more information.
